General To Lam works with Hanoi authority on Project 06

At the working session, Mr. Le Hong Son, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee briefed the delegates on the city’s implementation of Project 06 over the past time.

According to Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Ky, Deputy Director of the Municipal Police of Hanoi, the unit has updated and processed over 7.9 million pieces of data on Hanoi citizens, reaching 99.5% of the population.

The Hanoi Police Department also collected the identification data of nearly 5.7 million citizens or over 98% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Public Security.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam praised the great effort and effective implementation of Hanoi City in implementing the project, saying that the initial positive results proved that the city has followed the direction of the Government on implementing the project after Hanoi capital had been selected as a first locality to execute the project.

Minister To Lam then suggested, the leadership of Hanoi should focus on key tasks while being proactive and flexible in implementing the project. The minister asked the city to overcome limitations in technology and infrastructure to build a smart city and ensure absolute security and safety for the project’s system and database.

The Minister also asked the city to urgently completed legal procedures to connect the capital’s citizen data to the National Database on Population.

On his part, Mr. Dinh Tien Dung, Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee affirmed that the city’s functional departments and agencies all have strong determination and high sense of responsibility in implementing Project 06.

He also said that, Hanoi will overcome difficulties and fulfill tasks with flexible, effective solutions and methods so as to complete the project as scheduled.
