Hai Phong traffic police instruct local children to observe road traffic law and avoid drowning
Sub-units of the Traffic Police Division under the Hai Phong Municipal Police Department teamed up to organize a social program to educate local children on road traffic rules and skills to avoid drowning on the afternoon of June 21st, 2024, in Tam Hung commune of Thuy Nguyen district.
At the program, Hai Phong traffic police officers distributed leaflets with traffic safety regulations and measures to avoid child drowning to local children, especially those living in areas with lots of rivers and pools like Tam Hung commune.
Delegates also presented gifts including candies, helmets and school supplies to children having correct answers to questions on traffic safety raised by police officers.
On this occasion, the delegation also presented the Tam Hung Commune People’s Committee with 2 two-way radios, 10 life vests and 5 lifebuoys, while offering gifts and helmets to 20 students from poor families with outstanding study results in the 2023 – 2024 school year in the commune.
Previously, from June 17th to June 21st, the Bach Dang Waterway Traffic Police Station in coordination with the local authority organized a program to teach disadvantaged children how to swim and avoid drowning. During the program, children were taught safe swimming techniques as well as self-rescue skills in water accidents.
