Hanoi pilots “inter-family fire safety groups” model
PSNews – The People's Committee of Hang Gai Ward in collaboration with the Fire Police Squad of Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City recently piloted a fire safety model, in which a group of households is organized as a fire prevention and fighting team.
According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Linh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hang Gai Ward, this ward has been the first in Hanoi to pilot this fire safety model. The ward has a high population density with many households living in small alleys and sharing small spaces.
According to the model, each member household of a fire safety group is equipped with at least one portable fire extinguisher and one demolition tool such as a hammer so they can participate in firefighting and rescue when fire occurs.
In addition, local people have a fire warning application (114) so they can quickly report fire incidents to the police.
Each household is also installed fire alarms in suitable places for emergency situations.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Tan, leader of the “inter-family fire safety groups” No.4 in Hang Gai Ward, shared that he shows his joy and optimism about this fire safety model, saying that the model would help residents in the Old Quarter be more active and united in fire prevention and fighting.
