The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department organized a conference to summarize the local police’s work in 2023 and roll out its work program for 2024.
Speaking at the conference, the Minister of Public Security highlighted the outstanding achievements of the local police in 2023, saying that the local police proactively grasped the order and security situation so as to prevent major security issues "early" and "from afar."
Meanwhile, leaders of local police agencies and units promptly advised on policies and solutions to ensure public order and national security, creating political stability and safety for the city's socio-economic development.
The city police was the first to detect and investigate wrongdoings in automobile registration, and resolutely fought crimes related to black credit and illegal debt collection run by groups of criminals under the cover of financial companies and law firms.
Regarding the city police’s missions in the coming time, the Minister of Public Security mentioned a number of issues that the city police should focus on, including enhancing leadership capacity of commanding officers and Party committees of local police units.
The city police should also closely follow the 2024 work plan, focusing on eight groups of tasks and three key "breakthrough" solutions, made by the Ministry of Public Security while seriously implementing directions of the City Party Committee, People's Council, City People's Committee on order and security.
To meet this end, the local police should strengthen the efficiency of their State management of order and security, effectively apply scientific and technological advances to all aspects of work, and take the lead in implementing Project 06 of the Government.
Finally, Minister To Lam requested the city police to step up the building of model ward police posts in terms of security, order and urban civilization, and promote the "All people protect national security" movement.
