Housing project brings homes to poor people in Hoa Binh

The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the Provincial Police Department of Hoa Binh on August 12 presented houses of compassion to poor families in Hang Kia and Pa Co communes, Mai Chau district.

The event saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, Vice President of the VFF Central Committee.

Hang Kia and Pa Co, two remote communes of Mai Chau, are home to 6,000 residents with a large majority of the Hmong people.

Over the past 4 months, 200 poor families in Hang Kia and Pa Co have been supported to repair their homes or build new houses, thanks to a housing project initiated by the MPS.

The project supports many poor families to repair their homes or build new houses. 

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son appreciated the efforts of the managing board of the project in implementing the significant social project, and stressed that the project contributed to poverty reduction and socio-economic development in the localities.

He also hoped that the authorities of Hoa Binh province and Mai Chau district would provide more support for local people so that all can have their solid homes to live, an easy access to healthcare services while all children can go to school.  

Deputy Minister Son believed that with their newly-built houses people will overcome their difficulties, to work harder, and actively join hands with local authorities in ensuring security and order.
