The International Conference on United Nations Peacekeeping Forces was ended, on June 15, in Da Nang.

The meeting was held organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Public Security in collaboration with the Permanent Office of the Ministry of Public Security for UN Peacekeeping Operations and the Office of the United Nations Peacekeeping Commission and the International Red Cross (ICRC) Office in Vietnam, from June 13 to 15, 2023.

The meeting aimed to discuss approaches to prepare human resources, select Vietnamese police officers, train them and build their capacity so as to be posted to UN peacekeeping missions.

The ICRC Office sent high-profile security and police experts in as well as officers who had worked at the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan to share field experience with the Vietnamese police force at the meeting.

The meeting also created an opportunity for the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the ICRC Office to strengthen the bilateral cooperation.
