Japan donates firefighting equipment to Quang Binh police

A delegation of the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam had a working visit to the Quang Binh Provincial Police Department on June 9. Senior Colonel Nguyen Huu Hop, Director of the Quang Binh Provincial Police Department received the delegation.
On March 15, 2022, the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam revealed an aid package within the frame work of the Grassroots Grant Program (GGP) to the Quang Binh Provincial Police Department, according to which 220,000 USD is allocated to the local traffic police force to purchase 4 mobile vehicle weighing scales, 8 alcohol breath testers and 6 portable drug testing machines.
This aid package also includes funding for the local fire and rescue police units to acquire necessary means for their work.
At the meeting, representatives of the Quang Binh Provincial Police Department briefed delegates on the work of ensuring security and order in the locality in recent time as well as the progress of implementing the Japan-funded purchase projects.
Speaking at the meeting, Senior Colonel Nguyen Huu Hop sincerely thanked the Japanese side for the aid package, affirming that the equipment purchased will help the Quang Binh police forces successfully complete their tasks.
In the context that Quang Binh province often faces serious floods, Senior Colonel Nguyen Huu Hop also asked the Japanese Government to support Quang Binh province with waterway means of transport to serve rescue work.
After the meeting, the delegation of the Japanese Embassy visited several firefighting and traffic police units in Quang Binh province.
