Meeting on two draft laws on road traffic held in Hanoi
The Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Transport had a meeting to discuss the contents of the draft law on road traffic order and safety, on the afternoon of August 3, in Hanoi.
The event was co-chaired by General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Transport. Lieutenant General Le Tan Toi, Member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Defense and Security attended the event.
Reports at the meeting read that, after the Standing Committee of the National Assembly gave opinions on the two law projects at the 24th session on July 13, 2023, the Drafting Board of the two draft laws. Acocordingly, the Road Law consists of 6 chapters, 90 Articles (no change in the number of chapters but 5 articles reduced).
At the meeting, delegates basically agreed on the revisions of the two draft laws but also proposed relevant units of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Transport to early complete the layout and procedures of the two law projects to submit them to the competent authorities for comments and appraisal before introducing them to the 15th National Assembly at its upcoming 6th sitting.
Concluding the meeting, Minister To Lam and Minister Nguyen Van Thang thanked delegates for their comments on the two draft laws.
The two ministers requested the involved units of the two ministries to continue revising them and submit the draft laws to competent agencies for opinions so that they can be discussed at the 15th National Assembly’s 6th sitting and approved at the 7th sitting according to the set schedule.
