Minister Luong Tam Quang hosts newly-accredited Chinese ambassador
Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with newly-accredited Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Vietnam He Wei, on the afternoon of October 18th, in Hanoi.
The host affirmed that the Vietnam - China diplomatic relations is in the best stage of development after the visit of Chinese General Secretary and President Xi Jinping to Vietnam in December 2023 and the visit of Vietnamese General Secretary and President To Lam to China in August 2024.
Minister Luong Tam Quang revealed that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Chinese law enforcement agencies have achieved a number of positive results in the bilateral cooperation over the past time.
Particularly, the two sides regularly exchanged ministerial-level delegations and maintained exchanges in bilateral and multilateral frameworks, while closely cooperating in ensuring political security as well as preventing and combating transnational crimes, especially drug trafficking, human trafficking and illegal exit and entry.
The two sides also supported each other in training and building capacity of law enforcement forces, especially those in charge of criminal investigation, controlling cybercrime and ensuring security and safety for major events and diplomatic events, while considering about the establishment and expansion of cooperation mechanisms related to the transfer of sentenced persons, justice, prison management and fire prevention and fighting.
Minister Luong Tam Quang wished that Ambassador He Wei would pay special attention to promoting cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Chinese counterparts in enhancing high-level delegations exchange, as well as sharing hands-on experience in protecting security and safety for major events in each country as well as visits of high-ranking delegations of one country to the other country.
The Vietnamese Public Security Minister also suggested that the two sides continue to closely cooperate in ensuring political security, preventing and combating transnational crime as well as controlling the spreading of false and malicious information in cyberspace, while strengthening bilateral cooperation in training and building capacity of personnel to participate in the United Nations peacekeeping police force and sharing experience in applying digital transformation into the police work and the state management of fire and rescue.
Sincerely thanking Minister Luong Tam Quang for the meeting, Ambassador He Wei underlined that top Chinese leaders always attach great importance to promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries.
The Chinese Ambassador pledged that, in his position, he will spare no effort to promote the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries in general and between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Chinese law enforcement agencies in particular in a practical and effective manner.
