Minister Luong Tam Quang visits Federal Republic of Germany
At the invitation of the German law enforcement agencies, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, leading a high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, paid a visit to the Federal Republic of Germany from October 26th to October 29th, 2024.
During his visit, Minister Luong Tam Quang had talks with the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community and the Federal Intelligence Service of Germany to discuss cooperation in the fields of mutual concern.
At the talks, the two sides reached consensus on not allowing any organization or individual to use one country’s territory to carry out sabotage activities against the other country and preventing the spreading of malicious and false information to separate relations between the two countries.
The two sides also agreed to enhance delegation exchange at all levels to share information and hands-on experience in crime prevention and control, jointly investigate and handle criminal cases involving citizens of the two countries as well as coordinate to track and arrest wanted fugitives who are citizens of the two countries.
The two sides also agreed to step up the negotiation and signing of agreements on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, extradition and transfer of sentenced persons, while strengthening cooperation in professional training for law enforcement forces, especially in preventing and combating drug-related crime, high-tech crime, terrorism as well as in forensic science and immigration management.
Further, the two sides agreed to ensure security, safety and create favorable conditions for diplomatic missions and citizens of one country in the other country, while maintaining regular consultations and mutual supports at multilateral law enforcement forums in which both sides participated.
Finally, the two sides strongly agreed to strengthen comprehensive cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two countries, contributing to developing the Vietnam – Germany relations to a higher level with a shared vision to the future.
Within the framework of the visit, Minister Luong Tam Quang and the Vietnamese delegation also had meetings with the diplomats and staff of the Embassy of Vietnam in Germany and representatives of the Federation of Vietnamese people societies in Germany.
