Minister To Lam gives remarks at the conference.

In fact, all ASEAN countries recognized the increased cyber security risks and serious consequences of cyberattacks, so they have been trying to strengthen their cooperation and coordination in response to cyber challenges.

That Singapore annually hosts the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Cybersecurity creates an important forum for ASEAN countries to share common views, discuss related issues and together work out the solutions.

Such practical cooperation activities contribute to improving regional network security capacity and build a safe and sustainable regional cybersecurity ecosystem.

The ASEAN Cyber security Cooperation Strategy for the 2021-2025 period provides several basic solutions to address cyber security threats and combat cyber attacks.

These include developing a framework to protect the critical information infrastructure, building regional security standards, drawing up a program to raise cyber security awareness in ASEAN.
According to Minister To Lam, Vietnam wishes to continue to actively, substantively and effectively join common effort within other ASEAN countries to respond to cyber security threats and combat cyber attacks.

During his speech, Minister To Lam proposed a number of directions for cyber security cooperation among ASEAN countries, such as improving regional awareness of cyber security and enhancing regional coordination in addressing cyber security issues, unifying regional views and voices at United Nations forums on cyber security, especially the program of the Open Working Group on Cyber security and Information Technology (OEWG).
