Minister To Lam chairs meeting of Working Group

Minister of Public Security General To Lam, who is the Head of the Working Group to deploy the project to develop the application of population data, electronic identification and electronic authentication to national digital transformation in the period 2022-2025 with a vision to 2030 (Project 06) chaired a meeting of the Project Implementation Working Group on the afternoon of March 28, 2023, in Hanoi.

The summary report at the meeting said that ministries, branches and 63/63 provinces and cities had developed their plan to implement Project 06 in 2023, deploy 15 Project 06 models while provincial-level police advised local authorities to choose suitable models for the locality.

At the meeting, under the direction of Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc, delegates discussed measures to accelerate the implementation of Project 06 more effectively in the coming time, and underlined the need to review and revise related legal documents, creating a legal corridor to facilitate Project 06.

According to delegates, it is needed to further connect social insurance with the educational and training sector, share land data with national population data, and develop resources for the information technology system to serve the development of Project 06.

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Minister To Lam suggested that the members of the Working Group urgently review and amend 48 legal documents regarding the use of the household registration book and temporary residence book, and give public instructions on the way to check citizen’s resident status online without the paper household registration books and paper temporary residence books.
