Minister To Lam holds talks with Belarusian Interior Minister
Minister of Public Security of Vietnam General To Lam hosted a ceremony to officially welcome the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus led by Minister Kubrakov Ivan Vladimirovich, on the afternoon of April 26, 2023, in Hanoi.
Right after the welcoming ceremony, Minister To Lam had talks with Minister Kubrakov Ivan Vladimirovich.
At the talks, the two ministers agreed that the two sides will actively develop specific plans to implement cooperation programs, bringing the relationship between the two ministries in a more substantive and effective manner, contributing to the traditional friendship and mutual trust between Vietnam and Belarus.
The two sides will continue to expand cooperation in personnel training to improve the two sides’ staff capacity, exchange delegations, share information and experience in counter-terrorism, cyber security, as well as in the fight against crime with the use of high technology to infringe on national security, transnational crime, and illicit drug trafficking.
Immediately after the talks, Minister To Lam and Minister Kubrakov Ivan Vladimirovich signed a joint action program between the Ministry of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Belarus for the period 2023-2025, which is seen as a legal basis for both sides to boost cooperation activities in the fight against new types of crimes, as well as in ensuring social order and safety in each country.
The two ministers also witnessed the signing of the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Hanoi Municipal Police Department and the Minsk City General Department of Interior.
* On the morning of the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long and representatives of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam welcomed Minister of Internal Affairs of Belarus Kubrakov Ivan Vladimirovich his entourage to visit the Mobile Police Command.
