Minister To Lam hosts First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia
Minister of Public Security General To Lam hosted a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Neth Savoeun on January 7, 2024, in Hanoi.
First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Neth Savoeun, leading a high-level Cambodian delegation, visited Vietnam to attend the 45th anniversary of the victory of the war defending the southwestern border and, together with the Cambodian troops and people, defeating the genocidal regime (January 7, 1979 - 2024).
At the meeting, Minister To Lam expressed hope that, in his new position as the Cambodian First Deputy Prime Minister, in his capacity, will direct the Cambodian side to continue effectively implementing the agreements between leaders of the two countries and cooperation plans between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of the Interior of Cambodia, as well as strengthen the bilateral relations and cooperation in defense and security.
The host also wished that the Cambodian side would continue coordinating with the Vietnamese side in defeating plots and acts by hostile forces aiming at sabotaging the traditional friendship between the two nations, and preventing and combating transnational crime, especially drug trafficking, human trafficking, crime with the use of high technology, economic crime and criminal crime.
For his part, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia Neth Savoeun expressed thanks to Vietnam for organizing the celebration, saying that the event has important meaning for the peoples of the two countries.
The guest also recalled the invaluable support and assistance that Vietnam in general and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in particular had given to Cambodia.
He believes that a regular celebration helps the next generation understand and inherit the tradition of good friendship and solidarity between Cambodia and Vietnam that previous generations have dedicated their hearts and minds to building and fostering over the past years.
Cambodia's First Deputy Prime Minister pledged that he would do his best to strengthen and further promote the relations and cooperation between the two Parties and the two Governments in all fields, including security and defense.
