Minister To Lam hosts talks with Cuban Minister of Interior
Politburo member and Minister of Public Security of Vietnam General To Lam officially welcomed a high-ranking delegation of the Cuban Ministry of Internal Affairs led by Politburo member of the Communist Party of Cuba and Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, on May 15.

Right after the welcoming ceremony, Minister To Lam and Minister Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, leading the two delegations, had talks.
During the talks, the two sides agreed to enhance the sharing of experience, anti-terrorist techniques and equipment, build capacity of security officers, boost cooperation in research and production of medications, vaccines, biological products, especially those that had been successfully treated patients in Cuba.
Minister To Lam affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security is always ready to exchange technical experience and consult with the Cuban Ministry of Interior about policies to safeguard national security, and will continue to stand side by side and provide more support for the Cuban Ministry of Interior.
At the same day, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam held a ceremony to award the “Friendship Medal” and "Fatherland Security" insignia to Minister Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas and other officials of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Cuba.
Under the authorization of the State President, Minister To Lam presented the Friendship Medal to Politburo member of the Communist Party of Cuba and Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Cuba Lieutenant General Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas for his great effort in promoting cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of Cuba, contributing to ensuring national security, maintaining social order and safety of each country.
Minister To Lam awarded the "Homeland Security" insignia from the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to seven officials of the Cuban Ministry of Interior’s visiting delegation and Chief Representative of the Cuban Ministry of Interior in Vietnam Pedro Soca Pascual for their contributions to the cause of national security protection.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister To Lam congratulated the Cuban Ministry of Interior on its achievements, expressed his belief that, under the leadership of Minister Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas, the Cuban Ministry of Interior would reap more successes in the cause of national development, maintaining social order and safety.
Expressing the honor to be awarded the noble medal from the Party, State and Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Minister Lázaro Alberto Álvarez Casas emphasized, that is the symbol of solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two ministries.
“The recognition of the Party, State and Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam makes us feel more responsible for protecting national security and strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries.
