Minister To Lam inspects medical examination and treatment at Hospital 19/8
General To Lam, Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security, on August 12 visited and inspected Hospital 19/8 under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS).
The working session between the minister and leadership of the hospital also saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security.
At the meeting, Senior Colonel Hoang Thanh Tuyen, Director of Hospital 19/8 said that the number of patients receiving medical examination and treatment at the hospital is increasing every year.
Meanwhile, the hospital has performed many specialized medical techniques, including organ transplantation, open-heart surgery, intracranial hematoma treatment, meningeal tumor removal, discectomy, stomach and colon laparoscopic surgery.
Regarding prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hospital 19/8 is implementing the vaccination plan for public security officers and soldiers as well as people in some districts of Hanoi. The hospital also sent medical staff to support Da Nang city, Bac Giang province and Ho Chi Minh City in the local fights against the pandemic.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam praised the efforts of doctors, nurses, and medical workers of Hospital 19/8 over the past time.
Minister To Lam requested the hospital to take good care of the health of public security officers and soldiers, contributing to ensuring the combat capacity of the forces.
The hospital should intensify scientific and technological research and effectively apply advanced and modern medical achievements to its medical examination and treatment while strengthening international cooperation with hospitals outside the Public Security Forces to improve its professional expertise as well as actively applying information technology to its administration, Minister Lam added.
The Minister also asked Hospital 19/8 to closely monitor the pandemic situation and proactively work out preventive plans for possible pandemic scenarios.
