Minister of Public Security General To Lam received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Vietnam Baloghdi Tibor, on the morning of February 14, 2023, in Hanoi.

Overview of the meeting.

At the meeting, Minister To Lam emphasized that the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary has continuously developed in many important fields and always supported each other in difficult times.

Vietnam and Hungary are also members of many United Nations Conventions against transnational organized crime, as well as multilateral cooperation mechanisms against corruption, illicit drug trafficking and terrorism.

In particular, the two countries have signed a number of deals with extradition of criminals, transfer of sentenced persons, immigration management, fire and rescue as a legal corridor for law enforcement agencies of the two countries to closely cooperate in the fight against crimes.

In order to deepen and further expand cooperation in law enforcement, Minister To Lam asked the Ambassador to pay attention to and create conditions for the relevant agencies of the two sides to enhance information exchange on national security and criminal situation related to the two countries, regularly exchange delegations and share experience in crime prevention and control, especially organized crime, transnational crime, drug crime, hi-tech crime.

Sincerely thanking Minister To Lam for the meeting, Ambassador Baloghdi Tibor affirmed that he will make effort and contribute to promoting Vietnam - Hungary relations in general, and cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the relevant Hungarian agencies in particular for interests of the two peoples.
