Minister of Public Security General To Lam had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India in Vietnam Sandeep Arya, who paid a visit to the Ministry of Public Security on the occasion of the beginning of his term of office in Vietnam, on the morning of December 12, in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam congratulated Ambassador Sandeep Arya on officially starting his new term of office in Vietnam, and wished him big successes, contributing to further strengthening the Vietnam - India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Minister To Lam stated that Vietnam and India strengthened the bilateral relations through the effective implementation of the Action Program to bolster the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for the 2021-2023 period.
The two sides also continued to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums, especially those within the framework of the United Nations.
In 2022, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and relevant Indian agencies organized various specific and practical activities in each country to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India (January 7, 1972), including the second Deputy Ministerial Security Dialogue between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Office of the National Security Council of India after a 2-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The host emphasized that India is a partner of high political trust, so bilateral cooperation between the two countries develops in all fields.
Minister To Lam stated that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security is ready to cooperate on exchanging information on international and regional situations of mutual concern, share experience in fighting crime, especially terrorist acts, high-tech crime and economic crime.
In the coming time, Minister To Lam suggested the two sides strengthen coordination and consultation at multilateral mechanisms and forums. such as the United Nations, ASEAN, Mekong – Ganges while increasing visits of high-level and expert-level delegations, coordinating in building and perfecting the legal framework for cooperation in the fields of crime prevention and control and criminal justice.
The two sides should also organize seminars and conferences to exchange experiences in crime prevention and control, promote cooperation in training personnel of the two countries in security, foreign languages, informatics, as well as professional technology.
Sincerely thanking Minister To Lam for the warm welcome, Ambassador Sandeep Arya affirmed that he will do his best to further foster the Vietnam- India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in general, the cooperation between Indian law enforcement agencies and Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security in particular in the coming time.
