Minister To Lam visits family of late musician Hoang Van
General To Lam, Politburo Member and Minister of Public Security, on May 4 visited family of composer Hoang Van, a well-known musician who composed a song about the Public Security Forces.
Musician Hoang Van, whose real name is Le Van Ngo, was born in 1930 in Hanoi. He was known for various songs like “Quang Binh que ta oi”, “Ha Noi – Hue – Sai Gon”, “Bai ca nguoi tho mo”.
He was honored with the Ho Chi Minh Award in the category of Literature and Arts in 2000.
He also composed a famous song about the Public Security Forces called “Bai ca gui nguoi chien si Cong an duong sat” (A Song for the Railway Police Officer), in 1960.
Minister To Lam inquired after and extends thanks to the family and relatives of composer Hoang Van. He spoke highly of the late composer’s works, especially the song praising the Public Security Forces.
Minister To Lam also presented the family with a embroidery picture, which symbolizes the sentiment of the MPS leaders and public security officers to the composer.
