Minister To Lam visits fire and rescue unit in Hanoi
Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General To Lam, leading a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, visited the Fire and Rescue Squad No. 2 of the Fire and Rescue Police Division of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department, on October 3.
The visit was on the occasion of the 62nd founding anniversary of the Fire and Rescue Police Force (October 4, 1961) and the 22nd National Day of Fire Prevention and Fighting (October 4, 2023).
The Area 2 Fire and Rescue Squad is one of the 6 fire and rescue subunits of the Fire and Rescue Police Division, which is responsible for performing fire prevention and fighting tasks and rescue operations in the districts of Cau Giay, Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Hoai Duc and Dan Phuong.
The area includes many residential areas with high population density, high-rise buildings, industrial zones, craft villages, which is prone to fire and explosion.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam said, “As the area enjoys fast socio-economic development and urbanization, fire and explosion becomes more and more at risk. Thus, the tasks of the fire and rescue force becomes heavier.”
The minister asked the Hanoi Municipal Police Department and the Hanoi Fire and Rescue Police Division to effectively implement the directions of the Party, the Government, the Ministry of Public Security, the Hanoi authorities on fire prevention work in the capital.
The fire and rescue force should focus on disseminating fire safety regulations, taking approaches to effectively prevent fire while drawing up firefighting plans for each place, building, facility and business establishment.
Leaders of the Hanoi Fire and Rescue Police Division should enhance fire safety inspections and lead fire and rescue subunits in expanding the movement “All people participate in fire prevention and fighting”, and mobilizing the entire political system, all social and economic sectors to participate in fire prevention and fighting.
