Minister To Lam works with Vinh Long police

General To Lam, Minister of Public Security (MPS) leading a delegation of the MPS, worked with the Vinh Long Provincial Police Department on the local police force’s task performance on June 11. The meeting saw the presence of representatives of the provincial Party Committee and local government.

According to reports presented by Senior Colonel Nguyen Trong Dung, Director of the Vinh Long Provincial Police Department, the whole provincial police have well implemented plans on ensuring security, social order, and while continuously preventing the COVID-19 pandemic and protecting important political events across the province.

Regarding crime control, the Vinh Long police successfully cleared a high proportion of the criminal cases, arrested numerous suspects in major drugs trafficking, economic, corruption, environmental cases, and eradicated a larger number of social evils hotspots.

The local police also focused on implementing the projects of national population database, e-ID card issuance and the Project No.06. Meanwhile, local police units strengthened force building on the basis of the four-level criteria.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam praised the achievements of the Vinh Long Provincial Police Department, saying that the provincial police should make greater efforts and successfully fulfill their assigned tasks in the coming time.

He also asked the provincial police to continue focusing on the local security situation, proactively control criminal activities, raising the clearance rate of criminal cases, and deny reactionary elements from taking advantage of religion and ethnicity to cause social disturbances.

On this occasion, Minister To Lam and delegates offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at His Memorial House in the headquarters of the Vinh Long Provincial Police Department.
