Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Education and Training team up to prevent drug abuse in schools
The Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training signed a coordination program in the period 2024 – 2030 to increase law dissemination with the aim of preventing drug abuse on in educational and training institutions, on the afternoon of January 19, in Hanoi.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Duy Ngoc and Deputy Minister of Education and Training Ngo Thi Minh signed a coordination program between the two ministries.
According to the deal, the two sides will coordinate in disseminating the law on anti-drug as well as holding public education drives on the harm of drug abuse for students in all schools, colleges and universities with the aim of improving young people’s awareness of preventing and combating illicit drugs.
Additionally, the two sides will hold extracurricular activities to learn about laws on drug prevention and combat, oral and written contests and art competitions on drug prevention and combat among students.
The two sides will also include the legal content on drug prevention and combat in curricular and extracurricular educational programs at all educational levels as well as develop a set of educational materials for drug prevention and control skills suitable for the psychological and physiological characteristics of students at all levels.
The Counter-Narcotics Police Department of Drug Crime Investigation under the Ministry of Public Security and the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs under the Ministry of Education and Training are assigned to lead other agencies and units of the two ministries in implementing the regulation program.
