Ministry of Public Security awards "Homeland Security Protection" Medal to two Australians

The Department of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Liaison Office of the Australian Federal Police in Vietnam, organized a ceremony to award the "Homeland Security Protection" Medal to officers from Australian law enforcement agenciesfor their great contributions to the cause of protecting Vietnam's national security, on November 10.

At the ceremony, authorized by Minister of Public Security General To Lam, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Senior Colonel Nguyen Hoa Chi awarded the "Homeland Security Protection" Medal to Ms. Anita Dodds, Director and lecturer of the ARLEMP Program and the BCAMP Program, and Mr. Bevan Moroney, Australian Federal Police (AFP) Liaison Officer in Ho Chi Minh City.

Over the past more than 10 years working in Vietnam, Ms. Anita Dodds has made large contributions to the training of Vietnamese police officers in the field of law enforcement.

As Director and lecturer of the ARLEMP and BCAMP Programs, she actively coordinated with law enforcement agencies of other countries to develop training programs and directly participated in training more than 1,000 immigration officers, as well as coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to organize 54 ARLEMP courses and 28 BCAMP courses for 800 Vietnamese officers.

Meanwhile, during his tenure in Vietnam, Mr. Bevan Moroney spared no effort to strengthen coordination between AFP and Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in the crime prevention and control.

In particular, he acted as a bridge between the AFP and the Ministry of Public Security, exchanging information about transnational and organized crime related to the two countries.
