Ministry of Public Security leads the drafting of Non-Traditional Security Strategy
Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung chaired the first meeting of the Steering Committee and the Drafting Group on Non-Traditional Security Strategy, on the morning of April 17th, in Hanoi.

The Ministry of Public Security advised the Prime Minister to issue Decision No. 232 on March 18,2024 on the establishment of the Steering Committee on Drafting Non-Traditional Security Strategy.
Accordingly, Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General To Lam is Head of the Steering Committee while Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung is Deputy Head of the Steering Committee.
Pursuant to the decision, Minister To Lam, the Head of the Steering Committee, signed a decision on promulgating the organizational and operational regulations of the Steering Committee as well as a decision on the establishment of a drafting group.
At the meeting, delegates worked on the work plan and a roadmap for the drafting of the strategy, as well as outlined the strategy.
They also clarified the responsibilities of every member of the Steering Committee, and discussed measures to effectively implement tasks in accordance to the roadmap, meeting deadlines.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung emphasized the importance of developing a national strategy on non-traditional security, saying that drafting such a strategy needs a nationwide, comprehensive and unified approach.
He added, the strategy covers many fields and is related to several current national strategies, so drafting of the strategy requires the participation of all ministries, branches and agencies, as well as strict compliance with regulations, procedures and orders.
Based on their responsibilities, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung requested other members of the Steering Committee from Central agencies and ministries to direct their agencies and ministries to urgently draft the sections within the domain of their agencies and ministries of the Strategy.
