Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Ministry of Interior of Saudi Arabia sign deal on crime control
As a member of the high-ranking Vietnamese governmental delegation led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh officially visiting Saudi Arabia and attending the ASEAN - GCC Summit, Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc had talks with Deputy Minister of Home Affairs of the host country, Dr. Hesham bin Abdulrahman Alfaleh.
During the talks, the two sides discussed approaches to promote bilateral security cooperation, and on behalf of the two governments, signed an agreement on crime prevention and combat between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The two sides also agreed to strengthen friendly relations and multi-faceted cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Home Affairs as well as relevant Saudi Arabian agencies in security, police work, law enforcement and criminal justice, contributing to safeguarding national security and ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of citizens of the two countries.
The two sides also agreed to increase exchange of information on crime prevention and control, especially fake passports and documents to enter and exit each country while teaming up to hold training programs for officers of the two sides on migration management and border management.
At the end of the talks, the two sides signed an agreement on crime prevention and combat and agreed to step up negotiations on an agreement on the transfer of persons sentenced to prison so that it can be signed in the near future, contributing to expanding cooperation between the two sides.
