The Ministry of Public Security held a briefing conference to evaluate the security situation and work results of the Public Security Forces in February, and roll out the general work plan for March 2024, on the afternoon of February 26, in Hanoi.

Delivering the general report at the conference, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security Major General Dang Hong Duc released that the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security directed all public security agencies and units to seriously and effectively implement the guidelines of the Party and State leaders on safeguarding national security, ensuring order and social safety, especially during the Lunar New Year of the Dragon.

Particularly, the Public Security Forces ensured absolute safety for all meetings and activities of Party and State leaders, important national events and visiting international delegations in Vietnam.

At the discussion session, under the chair of Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To, delegates focused on approaches to fight crimes, including crime with the use of high technology and crime in cyberspace, as well as measures to effectively deploy fire prevention and fighting plans and models in residential areas and ensure traffic order and safety.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc noted that police units and should step up administrative reforms to serve the country's socio-economic development, actively advise competent authorities to promulgate legal regulations on the management and safety of data, networks and cyberspace while effetively implementing Project 06, contributing to reducing paperwork and accelerating national digital transformation.

Concluding the meeting, Minister To Lam requested that all public security agencies and units seriously and effectively implement Directive No. 06/CT-TTg issued on February 15, 2024 by the Prime Minister as well as instructions of the Ministry on ensuring security and order and implementing key tasks after the Lunar New Year holiday.

Local-level police should draw up appropriate plans to prevent and fight fire and explosion, especially in crowded places and festive spaces, ensure traffic order and safety on key traffic routes with a focus on handling violations of drink-driving regulations, and strengthen order and security in detention facilities.
