Ministry of Public Security summarizes 5 years of implementation of the 2017 Law on Security Guard Force

Presenting a report summarizing results of the implementation of the 2017 Law on Security Guard Force, Commander of the Guard Police Command Major General Tran Hai Quan said that, according to the Law on Security Guard Force, the Security Guard Force includes the guard police force at the Ministry of Public Security and the security force at the Ministry of National Defense.
All officers and soldiers who work as security guards have been carefully selected, meeting a number of criteria and conditions, as well as undergone special trainings.
At the conference, delegates from units inside and outside the guard police force discussed difficulties in implementing the law and proposed to supplement and amend the Law on Security Guard Force in the current situation.
Concluding the conference, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung thanked the Central agencies, ministries and branches for their support and close coordination with the Ministry of Public Security in implementing the law over the past time.
Emphasizing the urgent need to amend and supplement the Law on Security Guard Force, the Deputy Minister suggested that agencies and units under the Ministry of Public Security, especially the Guard Police Command, further study and give specific proposals on protective measures, functions and authorities of the security guard force in line with the force’s practical duties.
