The Ministry of Public Affairs held a conference under the chair of Minister of Public Security General To Lam, to review the implementation of Directive No.10/CT-TTg issued on April 19, 2023 by the Prime Minister on ensuring traffic order and safety, on April 27, 2023, in Hanoi.
At the meeting, delegates also evaluated results of the implementation of Dispatch No. 05 signed on February 3, 2023 by the Minister of Public Security directing the police forces to ensure traffic safety in 2023, particularly on national holidays including the Hung Ancestor's death anniversary, the South Liberation Day (April 30) and the Labor Day (May 1).
Reports on the results of the implementation of Dispatch 05 after two months and a half read that local police units at both provincial and district levels had drawn up plans to mobilize the local political system, officials, civil servants and people to observe traffic safety regulations.
At the meeting, delegates pointed shortcomings after 2.5 months of implementing Telegram No. 05 and proposed approaches to fix the issues and further improve traffic order and safety in the time to come.
Speaking at the conference, Minister To Lam requested nationwide police units to seriously implement Directive No. 10 of the Prime Minister on ensuring traffic safety on roads in the new situation. The minister underscored that the traffic police should focuse on handling traffic violations, especially driving under the influence, speeding, wrong lanes, overloading and illegal crossing.
In the immediate future, the police units should mobilize forces to ensure traffic order and safety during the Hung Kings’ death anniversary, the South Liberation Day (April 30) and the Labor Day (May 1), and summer vacation in 2023.
