Mobile police officers of HCM City join construction of field hospital
Over the past week, officers of the Ho Chi Minh City-based Southeast Mobile Police Regiment, under the Mobile Police Command, have quickly built a field hospital in Phuoc Loc commune, Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City (HCM City).
Since the 4th breakout of the COVID-19 pandemic in the city, the regiment has deployed 500 officers and soldiers to support the Police Department of HCM City and Chi Hoa Prison in prevention and control of the pandemic, said Lieutenant Colonel Le Dai Thang, Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City-based Southeast Mobile Police Regiment.
Given the complicated situation of the pandemic in the city, the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security ordered the city’s police force to build a field hospital to examine and treat COVID-19 patients and ease the pressure for the 304 Hospital.
The field hospital was built from an unused more-than-5,000-m2 warehouse and located near the regiment’s headquarters.
The regiment mobilized its officers and soldiers to work all day and night to complete construction of the field hospital as scheduled.
Under the direction of the HCM City Department of Health, the mobile police officers supported in clearing the site, transporting equipment and materials, installing medical machinery for the treatment of COVID-19 patients as well as building the field hospital and guarding the construction site.
