MPS actively prepares for 27th ASEAN DGICM Meeting
PSNews - Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang chaired the 2nd meeting of the Organizing Committee of the 27th ASEAN Directors-General of Immigration Departments and Heads of Consular Affairs Divisions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs Meeting (27th DGICM) and its sub-committees on May 14, 2024, in Hanoi.
At the meeting, representatives from the assistance subcommittees reported to delegates on the preparation for the 27th DGICM in line with the directions of leaders of the Ministry of Public Security at the first working session of the Organizing Committee on February 29, 2024.
Specifically, the 27th DGICM Organizing Committee had carefully studied and decided to organize the meeting in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa in mid-August of 2024, while drafting and submitting a detailed organization plan for the 27th DGICM, in which specific tasks are assigned to relevant agencies, to leaders of the Ministry of Public Security for approval.
During the discussion, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, subcommittees and relevant agencies discussed issues related to the preparation for the 27th DGICM.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated the great effort of the Organizing Committee in preparing for the 27th DGICM. He asked relevant public security units and agencies to strictly implement their assigned tasks in accordance with the approved 27th DGICM organizing plan.
Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang also required relevant police units and agencies to draft plans on ensuring traffic safety and order as well as convoying visiting delegations while closely coordinating with the Department of Immigration under the Ministry of Public Security to draft contents following the subcommittees’ plans.
Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Department to draft a detailed plan on ensuring security and order in the meeting’s places, delegates’ temporary residences and other related locations, and be prepared for unexpected security threats that may arise during the event.
