The Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) organized a ceremony to celebrate the 112th International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 - 2022) and a meeting with delegates of the Public Security Forces to the 13th National Women’s Congress.

General To Lam, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a speech at the event.

The event also saw the presence of leaders of various under-ministerial agencies and twenty-five delegates representing the entire female officers of the People's Public Security Forces to attend the 13th National Women's Congress.

In her opening remarks, Senior Colonel Ngo Hoai Thu, Deputy Director of the Party and Political Work Department and Chairwoman of the Public Security Women's Union (PSWU) said that, since its establishment 39 years ago, the PSWU and its affiliates have developed strongly and obtained numerous achievements. 

Women organizations of public security agencies and units at all levels have carried out many meaningful emulation movements, attracting a large number of female officers to participate in, such as the movement “Three Accomplishments”, the movement “Policewomen are excellent at both work and home”, the movement “Female public security officers follow President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, morals and lifestyle; be proactive, responsible, disciplined and creative to protect national security; build a happy, resilient family”.

According to statistics, 63.47% of the female public security officers hold college or university degrees and 4.41% of the total have postgraduate degrees. There are some 250 female Associate Professors and Ph.D.s in the Public Security Forces while many others hold key leading positions. 

Ten female officers have the ranks of Major General and Lieutenant General. One female senior officer is member to the 15th National Assembly.

Additionally, a large number of female police officers  brave difficulty and danger to fight crimes, preserving a peaceful life for people. They are good examples of the whole Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam sent his best wishes to all female public security officers on the occasion of the 112th International Women's Day, affirming that the female public security officers have made significant contributions to protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety.

On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the MPS leadership, Minister Lam hoped that the PSWU chapters at all levels would continue to protect policewomen's legitimate rights and interests and serve as advisory bodies to the Party organizations on women's work and force building.
