MPS discusses plans to ensure security for the celebration of 70th Dien Bien Phu Victory Anniversary

The decision to establish a Security Subcommittee for the Celebration of the 70th Dien Bien Phu Victory was announced at a conference held on the morning of March 15, 2024.

Deputy Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security Senior Colonel Nguyen Thi Phuong read the decision at the meeting. 

Under the chair of Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang, delegates assessed the current security situation as well as predicted possible situational developments in the coming time.

They agreed on key contents of the draft plan and also proposed additional measures with the aim of absolutely ensuring security and order for the celebration of the 70th Dien Bien Phu Victory anniversary and major conferences and events in 2024.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that there will be 3 important events of the country to take place in Dien Bien and Da Nang, so involved security agencies and police units should regard the work of ensuring security and safety for the celebration of the anniversary as their important political task in the first half, mobilizing maximum efforts and means for the task.

Accordingly, the involved agencies and units should always put on the alert, have plans to address possible scenarios, and prepare forces to successfully settle security and order issues from the starting point.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang also assigned specific tasks to each agency and unit, according to their functions and missions, and requested the People's Committees of Dien Bien province and Da Nang city, involved ministries and branches to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Public Security to ensure absolutely ensure security and order for major events taking place in the areas and other localities across the country.
