MPS hands over 1,300 compassion homes to disadvantaged people in Tra Vinh

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) in coordination with the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee organized a ceremony to hand over 1,300 newly built homes to disadvantaged families with housing difficulties in Tra Vinh province, on the morning of October 8th, 2024.

The ceremony saw the presence of Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang as well as a number of other senior officials, including Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, General Director of Vietnam Television Le Ngoc Quang and Secretary of the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee Ngo Chi Cuong.

In response to the movement “Join hands for the poor – No one is left behind”, over the past time, MPS has mobilized resources to build more than 15,000 houses for poor households with housing difficulties in many localities.

In Tra Vinh, 1,300 compassion houses have been built over the past time, with the construction cost covered by MPS-mobilized funds and the Tra Vinh provincial social security fund.

Thanks to the great effort of all involved agencies and units, the project to build 1,300 houses was completed on August 11th, after four months of construction, 20 days ahead of the schedule.

All the newly-built houses are handed over to the beneficiary households, helping them have a stable place to live and encouraging them to overcome their difficulties, strive to improve their family economy.

MPS’s great support for local people has also contributed to strengthening people’s trust and their solidarity with the Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Luong Tam Quang highlighted the close collaboration and effective support of the Party Committee, the People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tra Vinh province as well as commended the Tra Vinh police force for its great effort in building homes for disadvantaged people, underlining that the housing project completed dozens days ahead of the schedule has helped the beneficiaries have their new homes early.

The Minister also congratulated the beneficiary families on their new houses and wished them to soon overcome poverty, improve their lives and actively participate in the “All people protecting national security” movement, contributing to ensuring local security and order as well as strengthening the people’s security posture in the province.

The Minister also said that such concerted support for disadvantaged people helps spread humanistic values and beautify the tradition of humanity of the Vietnamese people.

Minister Luong Tam Quang proposed that the Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tra Vinh province continue to join the Public Security Forces in implementing the Party and State’s policies on poverty reduction in the province for local security and order as well as local people’s prosperity, peace and happiness.
