MPS makes thorough preparations for 80th founding anniversary of the Public Security Forces
The Organizing Committee for the Celebration of the 80th Founding Anniversary of the Public Security Forces and the 20th Anniversary of the “All People Protecting National Security” Festival convened its third meeting to review preparations for the upcoming milestone events on the afternoon of July 10, in Hanoi.
Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, Head of the Organizing Committee, chaired the meeting.
Deputy Ministers of Public Security Lieutenant General Pham The Tung and Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc, who serve as Deputy Heads of the Organizing Committee, also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, delegates reviewed the celebration activities held thus far and deliberated on key upcoming tasks, particularly the organization of the national-level commemoration ceremony.
Delegates also addressed existing challenges and proposed solutions to ensure the effective implementation of the Prime Minister-launched project on the celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Public Security Forces and the 20th anniversary of the “All People Protecting National Security” Festival.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry's leadership, Minister Luong Tam Quang extended his appreciation to the central and local Party committees, ministries, sectors and members of the Organizing Committee for their close coordination over the past period, and wished to receive further collaboration in the coming time.
Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that activities in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Public Security Forces and the 20th anniversary of the “All People Protecting National Security” Festival should be held in a solemn and expressive manner and linked with the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. They will also aim to reflect the country's new momentum and new national aspirations for significant developments in the current operation of the two-tier local government model.
The Minister also requested that celebration activities should highlight the Public Security Forces’ missions of ensuring security and order to facilitate effective local governance with the spirit of “being attached to the people, understanding the people and serving the people.”
The Minister called on all ministries, sectors and local authorities, based on their assigned responsibilities under the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 280, to maintain close coordination with the Ministry of Public Security in organizing the commemorative activities in a timely and effective manner.
He also requested that public security units and agencies take the initiative in organizing commemorative activities in a timely, effective and practical manner, avoiding any disruption to their ongoing work or compromising the quality of commemorative events due to the administrative reorganization of units at all levels.
