MPS opens 2023 Book Introduction Festival
PSNews - On the occasion of 75 years since President Ho Chi Minh gave the six teachings to the People’s Public Security Forces and made a call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948), the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a ceremony to open the 2023 Book Introduction Festival on May 24, 2023, in Hanoi.
General Nguyen Ngoc Toan stated, the festival, themed "Uncle Ho - Love Through Every Page," was a political activity to celebrate the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's appeal for patriotic emulation and the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's giving six teachings to the People's Public Security Forces.
The event aimed to promote and introduce books about President Ho Chi Minh and books of historical significance, deep theoretical and practical values, contributing to evoking patriotic emulation, highlighting the glorious tradition of the People's Public Security Forces and raising national pride to readers inside and outside the People's Public Security Forces.
The program, lasting two days, May 24-25, saw the participation of 15 units and organizations, namely the Archives and Library Centers of public security schools, the Hai Duong Provincial Police Department, Digital Knowledge Center of the Hanoi National University, Ta Quang Buu Library of Hanoi University of Technology, Open University’s Library, Library of the University of Finance.
Over the past time, the MPS have always paid attention to the reading movement and directed their units to improve the quality of their library systems. Leaders of all local police units are asked to raise police officers and soldiers’ awareness of the importance of books and reading, at the same time define the reading movement and reading culture as a political task of their unit.
