MPS prepares for debute of Grassroots-level Security Protection Force

The meeting was held online, connecting delegates from relevant agencies of the Ministry of Public Security and provincial-level police departments.

According to reports delivered at the meeting, the Ministry of Public Security has issued a circular and two guiding documents in the preparation for the launching ceremony of the Grassroots-level Security Protection Force on July 1, 2024.

According to reports sent by the provincial-level police departments, the Grassroots-level Security Protection Force will consist of 82,213 security protection teams with  286.216 members.

At  the meeting, delegates discussed plans to strengthen the force’s organization, regulations on its operational expenses and equipment so that the force can operate effectively and efficiently after its debute.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung highly appreciated and praised the great effort of the provincial-level police departments and relevant agencies in preparing for the launching ceremony of the Grassroots-level Security Protection Force.

To ensure that the Grassroots-level Security Protection Force will start their operation from July 1, 2024, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung asked relevant police units and agencies to ugently implement and complete all assigned tasks by the time the Law on Forces Participating in Security and Order Protection at the Grassroots Level takes effect while advising local authorities to issue official documents regulating issues related to the newly-established force in order to deploy the force nationwide in a comprehensive and synchronous manner.
