MPS selects outstanding artists as candidates for People’s Artist and Meritorious Artist titles
PSNews – Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security recently chaired a meeting to review and nominate outstanding artists in the Public Security Forces to the title of “People’s Artist and Meritorious Artist” in 2021.

The meeting marked the establishment of the Ministerial-level Council for nomination of public security artists to the 10th National “People’s Artist and Meritorious Artist” Awarding Program. Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To is the Chairman of the Council.
Over the past time, the Department of Party and Political Work under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) has received profiles from public security agencies and units of candidates for People’s Artist and Meritorious Artist titles.
The department studied all entries in accordance with the criteria for the titles of People’s Artist and Meritorious Artist. At the meeting, reports of the department and profiles of candidates were submitted to the ministerial-level council for further consideration before the profiles of qualified candidates will be sent to the State Council.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To asked members of the Council to uphold their sense of responsibility, review and select public security artists as the qualified candidates for the titles of People’s Artist and Meritorious Artist in the spirit of objectivity and transparency.
Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To affirmed that the selection of public security artists for the titles of People’s Artist and Meritorious Artist aims to recognize and encourage public security artists, as well as to improve the image and position of the Public Security Forces in the national culture and art sector.
