PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security held a conference to review the task performances of the Public Security Forces in July 2022 and roll out key tasks in August 2022 last week in Hanoi.

Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General To Lam chaired the conference, which was also attended by Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Le Van Tuyen, and leaders of agencies and units under the Ministry and Hanoi Municipal Police Department.

Presenting a summary report on the security situation in the country and work results of the Public Security Forces in July 2022, Chief of the MPS Office Lieutenant General To An Xo said, in July 2022 , all under-ministerial agencies and units and provincial-level police departments seriously reviewed their work results in the first 6 months of the year and roll out their work plans for the last 6 months of 2022.

Agencies and units at all levels also organized a series of activities to celebrate the 60th founding anniversary of the People's Police Force (July 20, 1962), gratitude activities toward wounded war veterans, families of martyrs and other policy beneficiaries on the occasion of the 75th Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947).

While the celebrations of the  60th founding anniversary of the People's Police Force helped raise the status of the force, “Gratitude-returning” activities carried out by public security agencies and units at all levels bore profound humanity and great significance across society.

During the month, the MPS and its subunits advised Party and State leaders on policies and solutions on national security, public order and foreign affairs while the MPS leadership directed the entire Public Security Forces to implement Project 06 and provide support for other Central-level agencies, ministries and localities to realize the project. 

The nationwide police force destroyed a number of transnational drug trafficking networks, organized crime groups, human trafficking lines, "black credit" gangs and cyber-based criminal rings.

Over the past month, the police force has handled more than 3,000 cases of public order offences, destroyed 41 criminal groups, arrested more than 2,000 gamblers, investigated 47 cases of corruption and power abuse involving 83 persons and hundreds of cases of trade and economic offences.

The police force also detected nearly 3,000 cases of drug trafficking with more than 4,000 involved, seized 41kg of heroin, 140kg and 469,000 tablets of synthetic drugs.

Concluding the conference, Minister To Lam commended outstanding agencies and units for their great achievements last month.

Regarding to the orientation of tasks in August, the minister asked public security agencies and units nationwide to focus on the projects and missions assigned by the Government and the third quarter work plan approved by the MPS leadership.

General To Lam underlined that relevant agencies and units should speed up the investigation of cases under the supervision of the Central Steering Committee for Countering Corruption. 

The nationwide police force should enhance the fight against crime of all kinds, especially criminal crime, economic crime and human trafficking. 

The minister required that the Public Security Forces should take the lead in realizing the Government's Project 06 on application of population data, electronic identification and electronic authentication in national digital transformation in the period of 2022 - 2025 with a vision to 2030 while seriously implementing the Minister of Public Security's Decision on the list of level 3 and level 4 online public services on the Public Service Portal of the Ministry of Public Security in 2022 as well as the Prime Minister's instructions on the implementation of amnesty in 2022.
