National population database benefits banking sector and other economic areas

The meeting was connected delegates from the Ministry of Public Security Headquarters in Hanoi and the ones from provincial-level police departments, on August 7, 2023.

At the conference, delegates discussed the application of national population database in assessing borrowers’ creditworthiness, focusing on credit data and the current situation of using credit data in financial-banking activities in Vietnam.

The conference also discussed proposals to apply borrowers creditworthiness assessment models in retail credit facility at banks; application of population database in evaluating borrowers’ creditworthiness at BIDV; credit situation in Vietnam and evaluation of the data analysis application in minimizing usury.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc underlined the significance of the conference in the context of people's increasing needs to access diverse credit channels. 

Assessing the implementation of Project 06 in the first 6 months of 2023, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc said that the National Population Database has been applied in several fields of socio-economic development including insurance, healthcare, non-cash payment and online public services. These online public services demostrated the increasing reliability of the National Population Database.

Within the framework of the conference, the Police Department of Administrative Management of Social Order announced a contest to find technology solutions titled "Data to Life" and the National Digital Transformation Forum Website at: www.diendanchuyendoiso.gov.vn.
