The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a ceremony on February 23 in Quang Ninh province to announce the establishment of the National Training Centre for Counter-Terrorism.

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a ceremony on February 23 in Quang Ninh province to announce the establishment of the National Training Centre for Counter-Terrorism. The event saw the presence of Minister General To Lam among other delegates.

Minister To Lam hands over the decision on the establishment of the National Training Center for Counter-Terrorism to Lieutenant General Pham Quoc Cuong, Mobile Police Commander.

The National Training Center for Counter-Terrorism is under the leadership of the Mobile Police Command. The center is responsible for training police officers and soldiers to deal with terrorist attacks, sabotage activities, armed insurgencies, and specially dangerous criminals. 

Additionally, the center will provide policemen with skills to conduct rescue missions, respond to emergencies and perform other tasks assigned by their leaders.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister To Lam asked the leadership and staff of the center to continue improving their professional expertise and experience so as to build a qualified counter-terrorism force while further developing the center in the time to come.

The Minister also asked under-ministerial agencies of the MPS to further coordinate and support the Mobile Police Command to build a strong National Training Center for Counter-Terrorism so that it is capable of fulfilling all assigned missions.
