People's Public Security Forces consider gratitude-returning activities a heart imperative
PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security solemnly held a meeting on the morning of July 26 in Hanoi to honor outstanding revolution contributors working in the People's Public Security Forces on the 75th War Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947). Politburo member and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended and delivered the keynote speech at the event.
Synchronous approaches to care for policy beneficiaries
Presenting a report praising people with meritorious services to the revolution and reviewing gratitude-returning work of the Public Security Forces in the 2017 - 2022 period, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen stated, over the past 5 years, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security have led all public security agencies and units nationwide to implement synchronous programs on supporting sick, wounded soldiers, families of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution who used to or are working with the Public Security Forces, in line with resolutions and directives of the Party and State.
The Ministry of Public Security has proposed the President to confer and posthumously confer the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces on 15 public security officers, and the Prime Minister to grant the "Fatherland’s appreciation" certificate to 40 fallen public security officers, “Wounded War Veteran” certificates to 182 public security officers and “Sick War Veteran” certificates to 12 other public security officers.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Security and its sub-units attached much importance to building and renovating war monuments and war martyrs’ cemeteries.
Over the past years, the Ministry of Public Security has built a number of national-scale historical sites, such as the Central Public Security Bureau Relic, the Security Zone IX Relic Site, the T4 Security Relic Site and the Hon Da Bac Relic Site.
In addition, the Ministry of Public Security has closely coordinated with Central agencies, ministries, branches and localities to conduct search and collection of martyrs' remains. Public security units have collected 430 martyrs' remains, including 206 remains of dead public security officers.
Regarding gratitude activities, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen emphasized that the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security directed local police of units to provide lifelong support for 320 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, offered 91 savings books to wounded war veterans, martyrs' families and people with meritorious services to the revolution.
The ministry organized over 37,000 gift-giving programs totaling more than 27 billion VND, targeting revolution contributors, promptly visited and encouraged families of injured and dead public security officers, as well as provided annual financial aid for families with serious victims of Agent Orange.
At the event, the Ministry of Public Security awarded certificates of merit to 71 public security units and 102 officers for their great achievements in gratitude-returning movements in the past five years.
Taking lead in "Gratitude-returning" movement
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of the Party and State, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc extended great thanks to all holders of the “Heroes of the People's Armed Forces” title, “Labor Heroes” title, wounded and sick war veterans, relatives of martyrs, people with meritorious services to the revolution for their great contributions to the Fatherland. The State President also commended the units and officers with outstanding achievements in gratitude-returning movements as well as the entire Public Security Forces for their active and effective support for policy beneficiaries nationwide.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that the Ministry of Public Security takes the lead in the nation-wide “Gratitude-returning” movement over the past years as the ministry and its subunits have carried out various practical activities toward wounded war veterans, martyrs’ families and other policy beneficiaries, as well as spent a considerable volume of means and efforts in building and repairing historical relics, homes of policy beneficiaries and providing supports for disadvantaged people.
In the coming time, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested that the entire People's Public Security Forces should continue to implement the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh, the Party's guidelines and the State’s policies on supporting people with meritorious services to the revolution.
According to the president, returning gratitude to wounded war veterans and martyrs must be a regular task of the Public Security Forces, and everyone should consider the work as a heart imperative.
