Police in Quang Nam opens training course for Lao counter-narcotics police officers
PSNews - The Quang Nam Provincial Police Department held an opening ceremony of a training course on counter-narcotics for 50 police officers from Xe Kong province (Laos), on the morning of September 18, in Tam Ky city.
The training course, which aims to improve the capacity of the Lao police officers, takes place from September 17-22 in Quang Nam province.
It is one of the cooperation activities within the framework of the Counter-Narcotics Cooperation Conference between Quang Nam Provincial Police Department and the Xe Kong Provincial Public Security Department.
During the training, the Lao police officers are updated on the narcotics situation in the world, the region and along the Vietnam-Laos borderline, particularly in the two provinces of Quang Nam and Xe Kong; insights into Vietnam's policies and laws on drug detoxification and methods of analyzing and evaluating various types of narcotics.
In addition, the training course also provides an opportunity for the two provinces' counter-narcotics forces to share and exchange their working experience and knowledge as well as bolster their coordination in the fight against illicit drug trafficking and drug addict management.
