The Soc Trang Provincial Police Department held a conference on July 3 to review the locaal police’s task performance in the first half of 2023 and roll out work plans for the remaining months.

Under the authorization of the Prime Minister, Mr. Tran Van Lau, Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee presented the Government's Emulation Flag to the Ke Sach District Police.

The event saw the presence of Mr. Tran Van Lau, Vice Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People Committee.

Reports at the event revealed that the security situation in the province had been maintained in the previous 6 months. Particularly, police forces in the province investigated 246 criminal cases and arrested 473 suspects.  They also dismantled 255 gambling cases, arrested 1,477 gamblers as well as 82 drug-related cases.

Regarding the traffic situation in the province, the numbers of traffic accidents and traffic casualties decreased sharply compared with the same period last year.

Various officers and units under the Provincial Police Department were honored for their achievements over the past time.

During the first half, the provincial police mobilized all forces and means to reach the target of issuing chip-based ID cards for 100% of eligible citizens in the province.

The provincial police also coordinated with local authorities and forces to accelerate the implementation of a plan to build 1,200 homes for poor households in the province.

Their effort and achievements in the first half of 2023 were praised by the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee at the meeting.

 The provincial police shall manage to complete construction and hand over the new homes to the beneficiary households on the occasion of National Day (September 2).

The chairman asked the provincial police to fulfil all assigned tasks in the remaining months, and especially complete construction and hand over the new homes to the beneficiary households on the occasion of National Day (September 2).

At the meeting,  officers and units under the Provincial Police Department were honored for their achievements over the past time.
