Police need to enhance coordination with other forces in the fight against illicit drugs

The Counter-Narcotics Police Department under the Ministry of Public Security held a briefing session on professional plans to prevent and combat illicit drug traficking in the Northeastern region, on the afternoon of June 16, 2023, in Bac Ninh.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc emphasized that the local police forces should always grasp the local situation, taking drastic measures to prevent and combat illicit drug trafficking on routes and illicit drug abuse in localities.

They should also advise local authorities to seriously implement the Party's guiding documents, legal documents on drug prevention and control, the direction of the Prime Minister, and instructions of the Ministry of Public Security on drug prevention and control while improving their professional skills to prevent and control all kinds of drug-related crime in their localities.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc requested the police forces to improve the efficiency of coordination with functional forces and relevant units, such as border guard force, coast guard force and customs force, to prevent and fight illicit drug trafficking in border areas while strengthening international cooperation in drug prevention and control.
