Public security athletes win 2 golds at National Pencak Silat Championship

The closing ceremony of the 2024 National Pencak Silat Championship took place in the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Provincial Gymnasium, on October 19th, 2024.

The tournament was jointly held by the Sports Authority, the Vietnam Pencak Silat Federation and the Department of Culture and Sports of the Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, attracting the participation of over 300 athletes from 28 provinces and centrally-run cities as well as sectors competing in 31 categories of both combat and performance events.

The public security pencak silat team attending this year’s tourney included 14 athletes and 3 coaches.

After 7 days of competition, the public security team won 2 golds, 2 silvers and 3 bronzes. Particularly, one gold was won by Pham Hai Tien in men’s individual performance event, and one gold went to Pham Huy Hoang, Nguyen Manh Hung and Pham Hai Tien in men’s team performance event.

On the final ranking table, the public security team ranked 6th among the 28 participating teams, 1 silver less than the An Giang team, ranked second. The Thanh Hoa team ranked 1st with 4 golds, 4 silvers and 2 bronzes.
