Public Security Forces’ mass mobilization reap big fruits over the past five years
The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a meeting on December 22 in Hanoi to review the implementation of several documents issued by the Party Central Committee, the Government, and the MPS leadership guiding mass mobilization work.
Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, chaired the event.
After 5 years of implementing Directive No. 09/CT-BCA-V28 issued on November 1, 2016 by the Public Security Minister on strengthening the mass mobilization work by the People's Public Security Forces in 2016 – 2021 period, the forces have obtained some achievements in mobilizing people to participate in protecting national security and maintaining social safety.
Particularly, the forces have applied new contents, forms and approaches to mass mobilization drives while actively grasping the security situation at the grassroots level.
During their mass mobilization drives, public security officers called on people to raise their vigilance against sabotage plots and activities by hostile and reactionary forces targeting the 13th National Party Congress and the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and the People's Councils for the 2021-2026 term.
The public security agencies and units, particularly police units at the grassroots level, actively carried out the emulation movements "Good mass mobilization" while encouraging people to participate in the movement “All people protect national security”. Many typical models and exemplars of mass mobilization were built and duplicated in localities across the country.
The Public Security Forces also conducted numerous social and charity activities to support needy people, contributing to highlighting the forces’ fine image among the people.
At the event, Senior Colonel Trang A Tua, Director of the Department of National Security Protection Movement, briefed the delegates on contents of directives of the Politburo, the Prime Minister and the MPS leadership guiding mass mobilization work in the new situation.
The delegates then discussed related issues and proposed solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of mobilization work by the Public Security Forces in the coming time.
In his speech, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To emphasized that in order to further renew mass mobilization work and further expand the movement ‘All people protect national security”, the under-ministerial agencies of the MPS and local police units should uphold their sense of responsibility for the work, and consider it as a particularly important part of Party building and one of the Party's methods of leading the Vietnamese revolution.
The entire Public Security Forces were also asked to tighten their coordination with the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, the Vietnam Fatherland Front as well as socio-political organizations and local authorities while performing their duties of protecting national security, maintaining social order and carrying out mass mobilization.
The Deputy Minister asked relevant agencies under the MPS to provide sufficient equipment and resources for officers in charge of mass mobilization work and “All people protect national security” movement.
On this occasion, the MPS presented Certificates of Merit to 85 units and 93 officers that have obtained outstanding achievements in implementing Directive No. 09 over the past five years.
