Public Security Forces play key role in ensuring economic security

Present at the event were Politburo member and Minister of Public Security General To Lam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc, Member of the Party Central Committee and Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, as well as representatives from relevant ministries and localities.

During the two working days, delegates listened to a summarization on the work of ensuring economic security in the context of the development of the socialist-oriented market economy and international economic integration, delivered by Director of the Department of Economic Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Dinh Thuan.
Meanwhile, experts gave in-depthlectures on emerging issues related to economic security.

With the knowledge equipped during the conference, officers in charge of economic security would have a broad view of the domestic economic security situation and draw up appropriate plans to deal with emerging economic security issues in the current context.
Trainees also participated actively in discussions, shared their valuable experiences and good practices in ensuring economic security as well as proposed ideas to overcome difficulties and obstacles in ensuring economic security at the grassroots levels.

Speaking at the conference, Minister To Lam highly valued lectures of experts and leaders of ministries. He also asked ministries and branches to further implement coordination regulations with the Ministry of Public Security in ensuring economic security in their designated sectors.
General To Lam also asked the economic security force of the Ministry of Public Security regularly advise leaders of the ministry to guide other ministries and branches to successfully execute the Party’s resolutions, particularly the Politburo’s Resolution 12, and the State’s directives on economic security.
According to the minister, the Public Security Forces, particularly the economic security force, must be well aware that they are playing the key role in ensuring economic security, which is a very important part of national security, sovereignty and territorial integrity, especially in the current context of the country’s deep and broad international economic integration.
