Security Academy hosts 2023 VIETTESOL International Conference

The People’s Security Academy under the Ministry of Public Security organized the 2023 VIETTESOL International Conference "IELTS for the 21st Century Excellence," on August 26-27.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General, Tran Quoc To Assoc. Prof., Dr., attended and delivered a keynote speech at the workshop, which attracted the attendance of more than 650 delegates from foreign embassies in Hanoi, international guests, experts and university lecturers.

“The VIETTESOL International Conference is a prestigious professional academic forum. It is held annually at the educational and training institutions that have a license to hold English proficiency tests according to the Six-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam.

This year is the 9th year, the VIETTESOL International Conference has been held but this is the first time, the People’s Security Academy has had honor to host it,” stated Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To suggested that the workshop should focus on clarifying issues of policies, models, methods of teaching English and applied linguistics in Vietnam as well as share experience in applying technology in teaching and learning English, and seek to improve Vietnamese teachers of Enghlish.

During the workshop, delegates listened to reports discussing various issues, participated in Q&A sessions on application of English teaching technology, forums for PhD students, English assessment in the digital age.
