Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang appointed as new Minister of Public Security
PSNews - Member of the Politburo and State President General To Lam chaired a ceremony to announce and hand over a decision on the appointment of Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang as Minister of Public Security, on the afternoon of June 6th, at the Presidential Palace.
Previously on the same afternoon, at the 7th plenary session of the 15th National Assembly (NA), the NA adopted a resolution approving the Prime Minister’s proposal to appoint Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang as new Minister of Public Security, following the vote with 468 in favour out of the 469 deputies present at the session.
Addressing the ceremony, President To Lam extended his congratulations to newly-appointed Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, saying the appointment demonstrated the trust of the Party, the State and people in Minister Luong Tam Quang.
The President also highly appreciated Minister Luong Tam Quang’s contributions in the work of ensuring national security, social order and safety as well as in building the Public Security Forces over the past years.
President To Lam requested Minister Luong Tam Quang, together with the Public Security Central Party Committee and its Standing Board, to inherit and further promote the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnamese Public Security Forces, to lead the Public Security Forces to successfully fulfill all important political tasks entrusted by the Party, State and People as well as to focus on building truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern People's Public Security Forces, meeting the task requirements in the new situation.
