Mr. Lam Van Man, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control appreciated the efforts in pandemic prevention and combat of the police forces of Soc Trang.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung highlighted that Soc Trang has been effectively implementing measures to control the epidemic, and stressed the importance to mobilize all forces and resources and take all measures to stop the pandemic, and expand the “safe zone”.

The provincial police should grasp the situation, bring into full play the role of grassroots forces in detecting infection suspects or checking people returning from pandemic-hit areas. The Deputy Minister asked all local police units to apply information technology in tracing epidemiological history of infected people.

They should closely coordinate with agencies and units under the Ministry of Public Security to ensure cyber security and handle all fake news related to the pandemic.

Deputy Minister Hung noted that all officers and soldiers of the provincial police must be mobilized to stay on duty.

Meanwhile, the two prisons of Cai Tau and Ben Gia should double their efforts to prevent the pandemic.

On this occasion, the Anti-COVID-19 Front Command of the Ministry of Public Security presented medical equipment and supplies to the Provincial Party and People’s Committee, Provincial Police Department and Cai Tau and Ben Gia Prisons in support of their pandemic prevention and control.
